Ámbitos y formas de violencia contra mujeres y niñas: Evidencias a partir de las encuestas

ResumenEste artículo documenta algunas de las múltiples expresiones de violencia en contra de mujeres y niñas en México. La falta de análisis con muestras representativas sobre las distintas formas de violencia en contra de ellas dificulta la visibilidad de la problemática y, asimismo, dificulta que se incorpore el derecho de las mujeres a vivir una vida libre de violencia. Utilizando varias encuestas recientes, se presentan datos sobre la prevalencia de violencia contra niñas y adolescentes en la familia tanto en la etapa de la infancia, como en la de la adolescencia y la edad adulta: matrimonios forzados, compra-venta de mujeres y violencia perpetrada por familiares. En el ámbito laboral y educativo se observan manifestaciones de acoso y hostigamiento sexual, así como acoso escolar. Asimismo, se examina el ámbito institucional en relación con las mujeres que acuden a instancias públicas a buscar ayuda por violencia de pareja o violación. Si bien el sistema socialmente construido de desigualdad de género sustenta cada una de estas formas de violencia, en algunas de estas expresiones de violencia convergen otros sistemas de estratificación como el étnico/racial y el de clase.AbstractThis paper present evidence of some of the multiple expressions of violence against Mexican women. The lack of analyses tha use representative samples about violence against women hinders its visualization and jeopardizes women’s right to live a life without violence. By using recent surveys, this paper summarizes data about the prevalence of violence against women and children across their lifespan –childhood, adolescence, and adulthood– in family settings: forced marriage, selling of women, and violence perpetrated by women’s relatives. In school and work settings data about sexual harassment and bullying, as well as the prevalence of pregnancy screenings are presented. Regarding women’s experiences of institutional violence, their experiences upon seeking formal help for partner violence or rape in public institutions are examined. It is argued that social construction of gender inequalities support these expressions of violence. However, their analyses need to be studied as the result of the intersection of gender, race, class and sexuality systems

Light cone tensor network and time evolution

The transverse folding algorithm [Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 240603] is a tensor network method to compute time-dependent local observables in out-of-equilibrium quantum spin chains that can sometimes overcome the limitations of matrix product states. We present a contraction strategy that makes use of the exact light cone structure of the tensor network representing the observables. The strategy can be combined with the hybrid truncation proposed for global quenches in [Phys. Rev. A 91, 032306], which significantly improves the efficiency of the method. We demonstrate the performance of this transverse light cone contraction also for transport coefficients, and discuss how it can be extended to other dynamical quantities
